The beauty of bad ballads

Beauty of bad ballads: singing in the shower and home alone

It's been a weird few years for me in music. I've posted before about failures, struggles, and non-starters with performing and composing alike. Sometimes I find myself asking why I'm even trying to pursue music anymore, and I have morose, depressing blog posts about my disillusionment with music.

Sorry for that.

A broken instrument, or an OMEN FROM THE GODS?

I've posted a lot on this blog about my (seemingly never ending) struggle to get back into music after many diversions, distractions, and dead ends. This past summer, I asked my wife to get me something musical for my birthday.

Another gay post: coming out as a gay composer

I already wrote about my experience as a craft blogger/content creator on my GamerCrafting blog. This is a little bit different, but the message is the same.

Love is love: coming out as a gay musician

Last weekend, a homicidal homophobe gunned down 50 people at a gay club in Orlando. 50 more were injured. The entire LGBT community has been shaken to its very core. We're all thinking: what if it had been us?

A musician's summer reading list

It's summer. Let's read. And maybe learn some stuff in the process.

A musician's summer reading list on Musically Notable

No, I'm not a teacher, so I don't get time off in the summer. But a lot of you are, and by my count it's halfway through 2016 so I'd better get started on those New Year's resolutions.
