"Dan and I have been working as a musical partnership since 2006. We tried quite
a variety of styles and methods of collaboration for the first 3 years, but
since 2010 we have focused on a cinematic style, and have streamlined our
process and refined our sound. We play very much to our strengths: Dan is from a
prog rock background and has an incredible flair for creating bold, memorable
themes in a large scale setting. I am a professional cellist with a great deal
of improvisational experience and a real yen for finding new ways to showcase
the expressive qualities of my instrument. We make extensive use of orchestral
samples, but use the cello to double all of the string parts and add additional
material, which really brings the overall sound to life.
After years of avoiding it, I'm starting an adventure in recording music across many genres. I talk about music and stuff. Caution: severe stage fright and occasional panic.
